Our Organic Ingredients & Their Benefits
Filtered Water
Unfiltered water contains chemicals and contaminants, including fluoride and chloride. Filtered water can aid in nutrient absorption and boost your metabolism. It also has a much cleaner taste than unfiltered water, encouraging more water consumption.
Cloves
Cloves bring a warm flavor to your food and drinks. Cloves are commonly used in holiday recipes and often used alongside spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Yum! They are a low-calorie source of essential nutrients like Manganese, aiding brain function and overall bone health. Cloves are high in antioxidants and antimicrobial properties, which can stop the growth of bacteria and aid in your overall health.
Hibiscus
Hibiscus flowers are popular in making drinks and cocktails, and you can use dried hibiscus to create delicious recipes! Hibiscus flowers are full of Vitamin C, anti-inflammatory properties, and antibacterial properties, which can boost your immune system and aid in preventing the flu and fevers.
Rosehips
Like many of our other ingredients, Rosehips have high Vitamin C levels. On top of this wonderfully helpful vitamin, Rosehips also contains Calcium, Iron, Vitamin E, Manganese, and Vitamin B Complex. They can reduce inflammation and pain in the body and clear congestion so you can breathe a bit better, especially during the icky fall and winter months.
Ceylon Cinnamon
Native to Sri Lanka, Ceylon Cinnamon is also known as true cinnamon. It’s not the same as the cinnamon you find at the grocery store, but it is a close relative. Cinnamon is rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and Manganese. It can boost cognitive function, protect the overall health of your brain, improve digestion, and reduce the risk of heart disease.
For the ladies in our audience, cinnamon can help reduce cramps and other symptoms related to menstruation, like nausea and vomiting, because of its anti-inflammatory properties.
Orange Peel
Can you guess what vitamin Orange Peel has inside? If you guessed Vitamin C, you are correct! 136 mg of this beneficial vitamin per 3.5 punches of orange peel. It also has significant amounts of copper, calcium, magnesium, and fiber. On top of all those vitamins and nutrients, orange peel can support heart health, prevent allergies, fight the flu and common cold, and improve digestion.
Ginger
You may have previously heard about the many benefits of ginger and ginger root in the past. Ginger is more commonly known for treating nausea and aiding digestion. It may also lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, decrease heart disease risk, and reduce menstrual pain. You can easily add ginger to your diet by adding fresh ginger to your meals, drinking ginger teas, and drinking our elderberry elixirs!
Our Sweeteners
We use two types of sweeteners to make our elixirs and jams just a little bit tastier:
- Raw and unfiltered local Vegas honey
- Organic Date Syrup for our Vegan Elixir
Honey is generally delicious, but local honey has more benefits than you find at the store. Local honey is made and harvested close to where you live and may help build immunity to seasonal allergies in your area. Honey made by local bees contains tiny amounts of pollen they pick up from the plants they visit. It’s like a vaccine; you ingest tiny amounts of local pollen, which is said to provide pollen-related allergy relief. Be sure to research your area, as local honey from Las Vegas won’t give you the same benefits if you live in a different state.
For our vegan customers, we offer a vegan elixir that contains date syrup instead of local honey. Date syrup is a common sweetener substitute with outstanding benefits like antibacterial properties and high antioxidant levels. Date syrup has excellent vitamins and minerals like other ingredients like zinc, iron, fiber, and Vitamin C.
The star of the show…Elderberries
These delicious berries are packed with vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants. There are 52 mg of vitamin C and 10 grams of fiber per cup of fresh elderberries. It may also support your immune system and heart health, fight bacteria, battle cold, and flu symptoms, and have some antidepressant properties!
Our organic ingredients create a warm and flavorful elixir packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and more! They all have incredible benefits, and they come together to help you boost your immune system and aid in fighting the flu and the sniffles.
